BBC Sport’s marketing campaign and titles for the forthcoming Olympic Games are based upon the traditional Chinese folklore ‘Journey to the West’. The animation and music were specially produced by Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn.

The only thing that dragon ball relates to the novel is the Main character’s name OK fine and his staff and that cloud but that’s about it
and no the novel is not written by a famous man in Japan, it’s done by a Chinese man name Wu Cheng’en During Ming Dynasty.(about 16th century)
The story (Journey … The story (Journey to the West) originated from China not Japan. Why else would BBC use this reference for the Beijing 2008 olympics?

This story is an old japanese story writen by a famous man, well, the creator of Dragonball,Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT read this and decided to make an updated version of this, but the story was to plain alone, so he added Great apes, and King Picolo, etc. and, well, everyone liked it, so, he added all the DBZ and DBGT stuff. So give credit were credit is due. there is a cartoon of this, but it uses the same caracters from Dragonball!
