Speedo is one of the world’s largest selling swimwear brands. Its headquarters is in Nottingham, England. It was founded by Alexander MacRae in 1914. The company also continues to manufacture recreational swimwear, goggles, earplugs, swim caps, towels, robes, sportswear, beach volleyball etc.
You can find many men in Speedos at many beaches; this style is mainly favored by swim racers for its sleek fit and minimal drag in the water. Square leg swim trunks cling like a comfortable second skin, but they do provide decent coverage. The material is a blend of Lycra and Speedo’s own extra life Lycra for durability. Speedo swimsuits have been the suit to get for athletes for years. Many men can benefit from the training suits offered by Speedo. Not all suits are for hardcore athletes. Apart from athletes, Speedo swimwear offer several options for beach or pool also. Speedo swimsuits come in several styles suitable for training and competition. These suits include: FastskinFSII, Racing suits, XD Skin. FastskinFSII comes in full bodysuits, jammers, leg skins and briefs. Several lines are within the racing section. Endurance line features color retention technology, shape retention, quick drying action and UV protection and is chlorine resistant. The basic line features classic diving suits, briefs and jammers for those who are not training or spending a lot of time in the water. Training suits come in regular fit nylon or in mesh poly or a baggy nylon, which are looser fitting to promote drag for training. Aqua blade briefs and jammers feature a special fabric designed for the least amount of drag, with a sleek feature. Stripes on the suit are designed to pull water away from the body. The Avenger water Polo suit has Endurance fabric for durability and comfort, and is environmentally friendly. The fitness swim line offers thongs, briefs and square legs in classic fits and styles.
The XD skin line dries faster, has a 2-hour water saturation time, releases water faster, has great stretch and is chlorine resistant. Additionally, it has less snagging and is good for multi-sport use. It comes in jammers, briefs and shorts. The basic line and fitness swim line racing shorts are suitable for everyday wear. However, for those men not comfortable with the tight fitting suits, a different, more fashionable line is available called water shorts. Water shorts come in a variety of colors and styles.
